Vegetables

In 2017, BIOS AGROSYSTEMS SA created the Vegetable Department; its aim was to asses and distribute vegetable seeds from Seminis, De Ruiter and other globally-recognised houses. During its first phase, the Vegetable Department has been staffed with experienced Agronomists who have organises and performed assessment experiments so as to select the right hybrids for Greek conditions.

Over the next two years, we aim to meet the particular requirements of Greek producers for high-yield products that can be adapted to a wide range of cultivation conditions, resistant to pests and diseases and, mainly, widely accepted in the Greek and International fresh produce market.

Evaluation of hybrids being tested is based on a combination of comparative data collected from a wide range of experimental fields located in the Mediterranean basin.

The main focus of our efforts is Greek farmers; we rely on them in order to assess their demands and determine a way to support them at every stage of the productive process.

The following species are already being evaluated and soon BIOS AGROSYSTEMS SA will be presenting a wide range of commercial products to the Greek market:

  • Tomato
  • Cucumber
  • Water melon
  • Melon
  • Pepper
  • Aubergine
  • Spinach
  • Cabbage
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
